Makyol's foundations were laid in 1965 by the company's chairman Saffet Çebi. In the first half century of its corporate history since then, Makyol has repeatedly displayed superior performance and has authored countless projects both in Turkey and abroad, reinforcing its identity as a trusted business partner and firmly entrenching its position in world league tables.

A world league player...
Makyol was ranked 141st for its international activities in the list of the top 150 international contractors published by ENR ( Engineering News Record) in the USA. The same publication had listed Makyol as 174th in its 2006 list of the world's 225 top international contractors based on 2005 contracting revenue from projects outside their home country. Thus the company has succeeded in climbing over 33 steps in the short period of a year confirming its company identity as a world-class contractor. The company aims for 110th ranking in the 2008 ENR list.

New ventures undertaken over the last five years have diversified Makyol's project portfolio while enabling the company to deliver increasingly more of its services to customers beyond Turkey's borders. Makyol is currently involved in large-scale projects in Albania, Azerbaijan, Iraq and Morocco.

Russia, the Balkans, the Middle East, North Africa and the Turkic republics are among the markets on which Makyol has set its sights to pursue future growth.

Over the last decade and a half, Makyol has successfully completed projects with an aggregate value of more than half a billion dollars. In just the last five years alone it has successfully undertaken new business worth an average of USD 150 million a year. As of January 2008, Makyol's portfolio of completed and ongoing works has reached USD 4.4 billion in value.
